    Wine Bottle Closures

Wine bottle closures presented in a somewhat edgy style

    Setup
The tabletop is textured art paper. A small continuous-light lamp in the top left rear shines through the wine bottles toward the closures. A white card is positioned above the scene in the bottom right area to reflect light onto the closures.

I'm always amazed at the creative ideas that you come up with. Nicely conceived and executed.

Very creative Mike. At first I wasn't sure about the inclusion of the bottles but having studied the image the different colour of the bottle glass to my eye adds subtle colour changes across the art paper and to some extent the closures. Keep up the good work

    Thank, guys!

Peter: Thanks especially for noticing my use of the colored glass in the wine bottles. I strategically chose the three bottles so their colors would be cast upon the subjects and tabletop.

I also really like the way the colours from the bottles are spread across the image, and how the paper texture shows through.

Excellent still life. And the whole story is there. it doesn't need any text to explain it:- bottles, glass, closures.

I will borrow Matt's comments --cool shot, Mike. You did not happen to drink three bottles of wine before doing this shot, did you? Just thinking out loud...oh well, at least you used a glass...

Yes I did. It wasn't immediately before and it was probably with the help of my wife and maybe friends but it was definitely all drunk before taking the shot.

    I haven't admitted to that.

Quite well done Mike...would it have been better without first imbibing? The colors make the image.

Time for me to buy some color glasses.

I can't think of anything that is better without first imbibing.

It's cheaper to tape photographic gel to your glasses, though you might get arrested by the fashion police.
