What were your settings...with my BIF's it was usually ISO 100, SS 1000, f/2.5.

Well, I forgot to change my ISO from the day before, so it was set to 640 so this was 1/3200 at f/7.1...Auto exposure and auto white balance....I was just shooting sitting birds when this guy took off in flight....

You are quick for a passer-by bird. Excellent shot!

Thank you, Izzie and Rita....I could have sat at the docks all day....the birds are so much fun to watch. Here is another one that came flying by me, she circled, trying to find her young chick to feed....maybe high ISO wasn't too bad to use, I was able to get this shot, too.

Very pretty...Even with my eyes getting tired easily these last two days, I can see all the shapes of this and the fish is a bonus...I sat for a while in my deck resting my eyes looking at the blue skies and the green of the trees around yesterday and watched the hummers cavorting and I saw their mating dance....I wasn't sure at first but I watched and watched then quietly called my husband on the landline on my cell. He asked if I want him to bring out my camera so I can shoot the sequence. I said if you do that, they will fly away...I decided to go inside and I haven't seen it again during the day. It was a long courtship...where I ended up slapping my wrist for not having my camera with me...

Thanks, Izzie, I know what you mean....so many times I wish my camera was attached to me......the good shots sometimes get away because the camera is home in the cupboard.

Continue doing what you are doing...it is a pleasure to have viewed your image here that you share with us, even though I am looking at it with one eye. Tomorrow I will get better...and hope I can work on two finally...

I'm sorry, Izzie, I hope you are better soon....then you will get some of those hummer shots you want! Love to watch them, too!
