Izzie...I think you have hit the nail on the head.
This shot made me sad...the man (father I assume!) ..was not dressed for a relaxed day of quality time with his child .
He was dressed for work in the city. These moments seemed snatched and ...incomplete. he was there but elsewhere. I wonder how the child's memory of that day will be?

What really strikes me about the photo is the little girl's pose. It's an expression of explorative curiosity, caution and delight that you only ever see in children.
