    My American Bulldog- Tank

This was this past January- our biggest snow of the season.

Hi Tammy - Good rendition of whitish subject on whitish background with tonal variation throughout. Shadows across the snow and the snowball clearly seen. What were the camera and its settings, and what processing did you do?

    Cheers

PS Also think Izzy shots are well done. Don't even think of taking my bone!

    Hi Tammy,

Great action shot, I just love the focus he has on the snowball, I suspect it didn't last long, the snowball I mean - they generally don't when hit by a Tank.

Only two minor improvement suggestions I would make are:
Clone/heal away a few, but not all, of the black bits in the snow, especially the foreground one.
Crop 15% off the height from the bottom.

    Otherwise it is excellent.

    Cheers,

Thanks David & Dave for the kind words! Your right about the ice- didn't last long. Izzi does not share well and she uses those eyes to warn off the others.
As far a camera and settings- canon markdn2 135 lens ISO -400 ss- 1/1500 aperature- 6.7 normal exposure.
I used photoshop - did slight curves adjustment and brightened scene until i saw the sparkles I was seeing with my eyes.
Please see if this photo is bette THanks!!

For my taste, and now I am being really nit-picky, it is just a little too tightly cropped either side.

Also, for some reason, the snow/ice ball doesn't seem quite so well defined.

That said, it is better and good enough to make a commercial Christmas card.

    Or hang on the wall.

    Well done,
