This is my great-grandson.
I took this picture a few months ago while his parents ware raking the leaves in my yard.
He was having a lot of fun with all those leaves around him, and threw a little hissy fit when they were finished raking around him, and had to remove him from the pile he was sitting in. I'm enjoying him while it lasts....they're growing way too fast....

Kris, I like this photo. Two suggestions: children photograph better when you are down on their level; second I would IMHO to attempt to photograph more of his face.

I also like this image but, on my monitor the child's face was too dark... I globally reduced the shadows and globally brightened the image a bit. Then I selected the portion of his face that was in shadow and reduced the shadows as well as brightened that portion of the face a bit. It looks a bit better on my monitor, what about yours?



BTW: I used NIK Viveza 2 in the PP but, I would guess that you could do the same thing with most editing programs. NIK just makes it easier for me...

I do have the NIK suite, so I'll try to follow your workflow on a further edit. I must admit that I haven't used Viveza very often. (Not enough time to play....)

This was actually one of those times that he was sitting still (sort of), so I ran inside to grab my camera and shot what I could get.
This was one of several shots where his face was the most visible. His sister kept distracting him, what made him turn his head constantly.
I have actually quite a few shots from the back of his head.....

Children and airplanes and Shutter Priority with Continuous shooting is the sort I use for these kind of shoots. Sometimes you'll never know what will come up when it comes to kid/s shoots.
