    Brian,

    I like this portrait mode over the landscape version. Rose. My comfort zone is definitely landscape orientation.
    I think it's mainly the background treatment more than anything.

    it is a nice background. I always feel that portrait is just too narrow.

    It's narrow only if you don't fill the frame with your subject, not a problem with your composition.
