Simple but Fond Remembrance
I helped clean out the home of my very good friend's mother, who died at age 88 a few weeks ago and who I have known since about 1962. Her mother was my aunt's and my mother's best friend for over 50 years.
After her family had selected everything that they wanted from the home, I selected a few small mementos for myself. One of them is the set of placemats displayed in this photo. It's unbelievable how they complement the dinnerware and table that we use on our deck; you would think we purchased the dinnerware, placemats and table at the same time.
I can't wait to learn my friend's reaction, as I'm not even sure she is aware that I have these placemats. Better yet, I can't wait to serve her dinner on our deck someday using her mother's placemats.

+1 to Matt . The table, the plate and the placemats suit each other very well indeed
