Re: Her Final Destination
Donald, I have no words that are appropriate. Situational comparisons are inadequate. I lost my first wife very suddenly in 2000. Her sister and I scattered her ashes in Dingle Bay. Suffice to say that every time I go back, I remember and renew something which I cannot define, but which I do not want to lose. I will hope it is the same for you.
Your image brings me to tears with remembrance, and is a very fine tribute to your wife and partner. God Bless.
James

Re: Her Final Destination
Thank you for all the comments above.
I have now printed this one on A3 paper. I'm very pleased with the detail on the surface of the water, even in that white foamy water close in to the shore. An example, I think, of how well the Canon 24-70 f2.8 L performs as a lens.

Re: Her Final Destination
I've somehow missed this Donald. I was immediately struck by the simplicity of the image but that was as nothing to poignancy added by your words. Together, they speak so eloquently of your feelings. You will be devastated but try to remember the good that came before. It helps to redress the balance. Look after yourself.

Re: Her Final Destination
I am sorry for your loss, Donald. I think of photography as an artistic medium enables one to explore moments in time. It can enable exploration of our own emotion and can help in the healing process. I am hoping that this wonderful image has helped in your recovery and closure.

Of all the extraordinary work you exhibit here this is, for me, the top. I will be lost in this image for a long while.
