Snack Time
I was in Yellowstone National Park yesterday and came across this sow grizzly nursing her two cubs. She was quite a distance from me, but I managed to capture the moment. Grizzly bears have six nipples so these little bears had choices. After a bit mom was done. She sat up and the cubs fell off. Then they all got busy digging and grazing.

Nice capture, how much post processing did you apply?

Re: Snack Time
A nicely caught moment Chuck,
Say, is that 'pooh, bear' in the foreground?
I suspect the exposure has been compensated, at some stage, to illicit detail from the dark bears, unfortunately this has resulted in somewhat over-bright grasses, which I suspect John is suggesting might be able to be toned down by selective treatment in PP - well, I would try, if mine.
Still a nice 'family' shot though.

Re: Snack Time
Thanks for all the feedback. I have toned down the vegetation. Is this better?

Re: Snack Time
I like both but I like the edit better..less glaring...you did not remove the pooh bear!
Beautiful moment...Some liberal bear will soon complain of public feeding using that natural method. Watch it...

Re: Snack Time
Thanks again to all of you for your supporting and helpful comments. Izzie, I was going to walk out with a blanket to cover them so no one would be offended about nursing in public, but when my wife found out that my life insurance was not paid up she took the blanket form me. Maybe next time.

Re: Snack Time
Chuck, while there's little difference between the two edits, I prefer your first, the green just strikes me as more 'springy' plus mama bear's colors appear a bit richer. By the way, really cool shot. Of course, last place I would want to be is anywhere between mama bear and her babies.

Re: Snack Time
Thanks Jack. I think the colors in the first shot where closer to reality. There is a lot of new growth going on in Yellowstone. The aspen trees do not have leaves yet, and everything that is greening up has that new look. We saw six grizzly bears that day. It was really fun. Thanks for commenting. - chuck
