A bird, a Bee, and another reflection

First the bird. I was at a beach and as I was walking in the direction of this GBH it took flight so this turned into a quick grab shot.

Second the bee. As well as the beach I also went to a garden and one of the Rhododendron bushes was loaded with busy bees. Couldn't resist the temptation.

Third is the reflection. In a small lake at the garden were 3 Rhodo bushes on a little island. The reflection was just too good to pass up so here is the result.

Any critique or feedback is most appreciated.

Nice efforts all three. The bird nicely fills the composition and the muted background complements the dark form of the bird. Nice bit of focus on the bee and the reflection is very interesting, it has an unique change in direction of colors.

Think the last is the most creative shot of the set.

The Rhododendrons last such a short time.

Jim, in my area the Rhododendronss last quit well. Or at least the continue to get new blooms repeatedly.

Brian, I am suspecting something is not right with what you are seeing. I know you have a good and vivid imagination but a lady with blue eyes isn't even close. Strange though because everything is showing up the way it should on my screen.

Rita...All shots here you took are very, very good but my favourite is #3...it has a different feel to it like the image was inverted to take advantage of the trunk of the tree on the ground...very artistic rendition. I've read of this technique done before to complete an image...and it is beautiful...

A very nice set. I was not impressed by the Heron at first until I really looked at it. Now I'm impressed.

The Bee is also impressive. Looking at maximum there is a slight lack of detail on the hairs, but I would guess that this is due to diffraction rather than lack of focus.

The reflection looks fine to me, no sign of blue-eyed blondes. It looks just as if you have post-processed the unreflected bushes with some fancy filter. It is only when you look at the image up-side-down that you can see that it is a true reflection. Well-spotted, and well-captured.

Great reflection shot Rita, I loved it. I also like the other shots. #1 looks a bit strange to me though , is it heavily cropped or did you do too much noise reduction? Even so, very nice composition and posture

Izzie, thank you. That is exactly how I did this, and my other reflections as well. It is quit fun trying to find one that works.....some don't.

Barbara, the water was just ripply (if that is a word) enough to create the effect.

Thanks Binnur. Yes, #1 was cropped but like you I liked the posture of the bird and went for the trade off. I am not convinced that I am going to keep that one though. Might try some other crops to see if it goes better
