A wild experiment
Tell me if this means anything to anyone. It's an experiment in intentional camera movement. I do quite like the colours.

Re: A wild experiment
It's not something I would shoot but it is appealing.
To my eye, I think you might need a little more white space at the top or a little less light green at the bottom. The lines stop stop abruptly at the top of the frame. I think it would look better with the white space at the top being about half the height of the light green at the bottom.

Re: A wild experiment
I like it a lot - the colours and patterns are interesting and peaceful to look at.
I don't mind the widths of the white at the top and the bright green at the bottom.

Re: A wild experiment
FWIW, I like the concept but, am not nuts about the sky. Maybe more color as with seasonal changes.

Re: A wild experiment
Very nice abstract, if it was mine I would crop from the top and from left to eliminate the sky and the yellow part. Then IMO the image would give the impression of a wood

Re: A wild experiment
I cannot comment on what I do not know but I think this is more abstract than anything...

Re: A wild experiment
Thanks for all the comments - very helpful. I usually find it hard to make fine judgements about other peoples' pictures but with my own it is almost impossible. I am trying to do things a bit different to the usual landscape, etc.
Binnur, the picture is of the edge of a small area of forest. All the colours are in the actual scene. I have not changed any of the colours except for playing with the brightness and contrast.

Tony - I think Binnur is bang on with her suggestion. Stick with the predominantly cooler tones and crop out the sky and orange leaves and you have an excellent abstract image.

Re: A wild experiment
Somewhat reminiscent of the Group of 7. This looks like a technique that seem simple but gets tough in the practical.

Re: A wild experiment
I like the idea, & agree, just the trees, without the sky would increase the impact.
