I have taken my time before commenting on this one and I assume some others are too. My first inclination is that it needs cropping but then it would lose the sense of scale and it's location.

Interesting fellow and you did well to get an angle that was not being semi blocked by one of the twigs. Be interesting to hear what others think.

You could do an interesting whimsy by putting Bullwinkle into the background? I might consider a way to lessen the impact of the large out of focus branch.

    Brian,

Thanks for commenting, I thought about cropping but wondered if this image fit any of the rules of composition.

    L. Paul,

Thanks for commenting, see my comment to Brian. I plan to do a bit of research on composition rules and see if this somehow could survive based on theory.

Nice, but please also post the cropped out version; the heavy branch poses a real threat here

Rule of fifths and diagonal lines gets the focus to the eye. Flipping also works to bring the focus to the eye. This crop shrinks the shot a mite but that might be fixable with a scale.

John, it looks like that there is a hand near the bottom of his leg supporting/cradling him...I wasn't sure at first, but even looking at it in lytebox I still see the same hand...interesting....good catch.

I had to look long and hard before noticed the squirrel. Even after reading the comments and more looking long and hard, it does nothing for me. Sorry!
