Very nice Brian, you have a lovely garden![]()
Very nice.
Brian, beautiful textures captured here. This one has the feel of a botanical illustration... slightly antique if that makes any sense.
I'm really liking this sequence you are working on...
Looks as though you have all the fine detail there but now possibly bring up the brightness just a little without losing that detail?
One of the pp steps was to create a mid blue 'sepia' layer with a touch of oil painting. Then I used that as an overlay on the base. Throw in a depth merge with some texture adjustments and that 'just a touch of antique botanical illustration' begins to come to life. So yes indeed your impression makes sense.
The lilies will be in blossom for a few days more so with any luck the series will continue.![]()
he shot was taken in the shade and I used a pale blue 'sepia' overlay top brighten the lily. Not sure my skills are such that more brightness without too much brightness is viable. But if the flowers cooperate I will try again today and see what happens with a darker overlay.
Brian, I agree with Geoff.
It appears to be a beautiful white flower, but the brightest tones are well down the histogram. So if the image were mine, I would try to show off the flower by raising the brightness and contrast carefully while retaining the detail. For me the very light bit at the bottom right is a bit distracting so, again if it were mine, I would try a square crop to remove some of it, then clone the rest out.
Just a different view, of course.
Cheers.
Philip
