A Few Recent Birds...
Burrowing Owls
Dottie and I were in the Ft. Myers/Naples area for a couple of days photographing Burrowing Owls. These are tiny only about six to eight inches tall. The male is normally larger than the female and has lighter colored feathers from the sun bleaching them. The female is smaller and darker from spending most of the time in the burrow building a nest and caring for the eggs.
