Approx. a year and and half ago i bought my new camera. This is a shot from my first 'outing' and i've used what i've learned on here since to attempt to make it better. Mostly just cropped this and adjusted the sharpness and colors a bit(i'm limited by my available software for PP) So, should I crop more from the bottom.. i left what i did to balance the top part. Very nice...I like the edit...and the place looks like a good place to take your family with you. The addition of the people there adds to the human interest too. Good shot.

I think you have achieved a suitable crop and would leave the bottom as is. A bit more contrast would be beneficial.

What PP software do you have?

If you can dodge the center to lighten the background stream, people and trees.

Thanks Izzie...... i've also looked at that with a tighter crop on just the center part and i think it could go either way...

the default Canon software and i try to use Gimp

You can certainly dodge with Gimp and possibly with the Canon software.

You have done well with the exposure in the second shot to keep an interesting sky while still showing plenty of interesting tones and detail in the rocks.

thanks ...completely unplanned ... just a lucky shot yea i've found that on Gimp (the dodge and burn stuff) .. the computer these were on doesn't have that but i will migrate them to the one that does and do some more work on them. these were taken at the start of a journey of photography.. before this it was just point and shot and then move on. Still a long road ahead ....
