    River Tawe (B&W)

Found this location this morning, I plan to go back there to reshoot as the sky wasn't great and it was so windy!

Great composition Matt, I loved it Those dark areas look really black, so I would brighten them just a little bit to make them look like dark shadows rather than blacks.

I'm with Binnur on this one Matt. Might be interesting to get some movement in that water as well given the rocks. Definitely worth another visit and several experimental exposures.

It's a good scene Matt and one where it's worth experimenting different water smoothing amounts. I wonder if it will also work taken from slightly higher to show more of the of the upper water area which would give a bit less sky if it's not a good one.

As for this one a bit dark on the shadows but it gives you something to think about for the next visit.

Agreed with everyone. The primary issue for me with the dark areas is that you lost all detail in the trees. Take a look at landscapes you admire, whether done in color or monochrome, and decide whether you enjoy seeing the detail in the trees.

Cheers Grahame, this is my tripod at full stretch unfortunately! The landscape takes a sort of step down.
