Vey nice capture. Preening allows you to see the blue which gives it its name. It's usually not visible at rest.

Nice one! The catch light in the eye is lovely.

A really nice capture indeed! We had our first couple of blue winged teals in our pond last weekend. I had to google it to find out what it was and I was able to get the camera and capture a few shot with both the male and female in the frames but not near as pretty as what you've accomplished here! I like the light in your and the low angle make it very interesting! Nice job!

I love it! The reeds around it, accent the duck very nicely. With the preening showing the hint of blue is a very nice added bonus!

Looks OK but in an ideal perfect world, that bit of reed behind its head wouldn't be there. Not a big problem but it is slightly distracting. The white spot seems slightly over exposed and lacking in detail; but that is virtually impossible to avoid in bright light.

I think you did this beautiful duck justice indeed, Sherwood. Good shot! Do you have to crawl in the grass to be able to capture this one low? Just curious...
