    Pretty, it is indeed, Brian. I might have it less dead center - and in this pose a little towards the bottom left of the frame from where it is, but that wouldn't make it prettier.

    I tried a painters technique and applied a sepia layer. I think it made a difference.

    For me, Brian, your crop has reduced the stem length a little too much.

    I didn't have any real problems with the central placement because the stem is diagonal which tends to overcome any possible central problems. But if cropped, I would leave the stem longer and remove the balancing amount from the top instead. Or alternatively, a bit from both.

    I agree that more stem would have been nice... but there wasn't a lot in the original shot.

    The more I look at the shot the more i begin to think that as pretty as the rose is it is the stem that makes or breaks this shot. Something to remember in the future.
