    Stock Dove

The Stock Dove is common enough in the UK, but is rarely seen because it tends to stay in the treetops in woodland. I was therefore surprised to see some around the bird feeders at Hanningfield Reservoir in Essex. They are a very nondescript bird, but the blue-green necket is attractive.

Just as I was about to post this, I saw Joe Przybyla's pictures from Gatorland and thought "How can mine compare?". See what you think. C&C welcome.

Taken with Sony A200, 200mm, through glass window.

Thanks Binnur. I put the second one in because I preferred its composition!

Firstly, I think you should stop comparing your shots with others...just shoot. You'll be fine...I like #1 too here too. I think I have shot one similar when I was in Floridaland last year....nice and sharp too...

It can be a good learning experience to compare your images against those of a real expert; but don't get despondent if they don't compare favourably.

The first works well enough but with the second, which is a interesting angle, the bird's head isn't sharply focused.
