    Half Moon

I took this picture tonight. Can anyone tell me what the blue is around the edge. I am not too familiar with PP and am only getting started.

Search color fringe. I took a photo of the moon and got the same effect.

    Hello Steve,

The blue fringe is chromatic aberration. This happens when light rays do not focus correctly and is usually a sign of lower quality optics.

    Hi Steve,

Less exposure will reduce it significantly.
It looks a little overexposed around the edge to me anyway.

    Your EXIF:
    Camera Maker: NIKON CORPORATION
    Camera Model: NIKON D300S
    Image Date: 2010:05:20 19:28:47
    Focal Length: 240mm (35mm equivalent: 360mm)
    Aperture: f/5.0
    Exposure Time: 0.010 s (1/100)
    ISO equiv: 200
    Exposure Bias: none
    Metering Mode: Spot
    Exposure: program (Auto)
    White Balance: Auto
    Flash Fired: No

Given the shutter speed and focal length, I assume it was a tripod shot, so go for f8 next time.

    Cheers,

Yes, It was a tripod shot. Thanks for the comments. I just am intrigued by shooting the moon and getting the detail of the craters.

Dave, what are you reading exif with? I have IExif, and it is telling me there is none.
