This is the youngest member of our Clan, his name is Connor and is six months old. He was one of the reasons I was missing from the forum as we had him on holiday from Bonnie Scotland!

Anyway, I have never tried portraits before but just love this image, maybe it's a Grandpa thing, he is #8 C&C Welcome

Ah...now the story unfolds...he is a beautiful boy. You MUST catalogue his growth through your camera as the years gone by. My son and DIL came to know of a story of a parent (of an only child) who took a photo of their baby at age one at the same time, at the same place each year (for 40 years). Going through the shots of each year, one can notice the changes in all the background, the growth of their child, what came up from behind, what went down, etc. So son and DIL decided to follow the same route with my grandchild, something like a ritual. I am not suggesting anything, but I am just saying....

Thanks Izzie, it was great having him here, all the more special as they live 2000 miles away anyway, yes that sounds like a cool idea, 40yrs, wow how good would it be looking back through all of those Make sure you get the pics from your son, and post them for all of us to watch her getting more and more beautiful

That's a great shot David you really nailed the focus on the eyes well.

What do you mean 'never tried portraits', you do great bug ones. I see you managed to alter the settings from macro mode

Cheers Grahame, I never thought about it like that, I suppose its just the same except on a smaller scale the bugs are easier though they stay still for longer!

Lol I even changed camera and lens, kept pressing all the wrong buttons
