    We have just put in the bamboo accent fence which gave us a nice backdrop for the roses and other stuff.

    I like the shadows and the background , a nice sense of softness it creates for me .

    Thanks. I am working my way through a course on the Renaissance painters and I believe it has shown me new ways to see and present what I find in the garden/temple.

    Brian, it becomes less distracting when cloned, but it is personal preference really . Or instead of cloning, darkening the bright part of that petal like the rest of it might be a better solution, because IMO the bright part distracts.

    As you say to each their own. On my monitors the brightness is equal to the other outside petals. I also see it as the balance point that the rose rests upon. But your way could work as well as mine.
