    Lone Fisherman

This was one of my very first efforts last fall. I know it's not perfect but I think I've improved my skills since.

Jeff...nice place and I am sure the fish likes to bite here too, but picturesque wise, this shot is too yellowish for my taste...

Your colorful photo makes me think of Robin William's movie "What Dreams May Come". I agree that it's very yellowish and bright, but a beautiful photo non the less. It makes me want Spring to get here!

    Re: Lone Fisherman

Here's another version. The fall colors do tend to be yellowish.

I prefer the first version, Jeff. Nature doesn't always get the white balance right.

You're right...Sometimes I get influenced by others' opinions and I get overwhelmed by the amount of choices we have in PP.

    Re: Lone Fisherman

For me, Jeff, there is too much out of focus foreground.

The second version with more subdued saturation is preferable, although there may be another option which is half way between the two?

The first one; because it is as over saturated as my dear dreams

The crop version looks much better to me.

    Mine eyes too...the cropped version.

Are you confused now with different eyes, different view, different interpretations? Not really intentional but that was what we are doing to you....

I do appreciate the varied opinions, but the subjectivity of art comes down to the artist's opinion. But that can be based on those he learns from. The goal is to attain one's own voice, and hopefully it is an original one.

    Re: Lone Fisherman

Pic one tends to over pop and the name of the pic leaves me ay a loss . The fisherman is to little of the pic , possibly play with a few crops. Nice work.

    Re: Lone Fisherman

Hi Jeff , if you are to crop the image IMO you should crop some of sky in the one above because it doesn't add to the scene. If you asked my preference I would go for #1 though

P.S. May be I would reduce the saturation in #1 just a little bit not too much , but I'm not sure. It is difficult to say without seeing it. Because IMO the saturated colors make the image.
