    Beautiful image, Bob. Great color, composition, and sharpness. Would love to learn more about how you made this... EXIF suggests a teleconverter, which surely performed well. I'm thinking the high ISO is for the fast shutter - so maybe handheld (?). In any case, congratulations on a great image.

    Hi Bob: This is a very nice shot of a beautiful bird with lovely colours. Where was it taken?

    @mark: was on a tripod but in a very swampy area.. TC17II was used after focus tuning.

    @susan: Newbury, Massachusetts last summer.

    Mark...how did you know? I checked the EXIF and it did not say teleconverter...there must be a way to guess that on the settings...????

    #2 is very good; has a nice, undisturbing background fitting the excellent colours of the bird.

    All of them are very interesting and very colorful. Nicely done.

    I like the low angle you got on the subject...I hope you didn't get to wet.

    The detail in these are amazing. They are all fantastic shots. My one and only little gripe is id like to see the birds reflections but that's just me. Top job

    In this case do not look at the EXIF, look at what bobfriedman wrote: "Nikkor AF-S 600mm.... at 1000.0mm. Without a converter it would be very, very hard to reach the 1m mark with "only" 600mm
