    Good catch, Jack.

The guy on the left with his tongue poking out caught my attention first, and I thought that was the 'look of determination'. Then the woman next to him, who seems pretty intent on something. Finally, the woman striding out. So overall, I would say this is a 'study' in determination.

Excellent job, Jack...all perfectly described by Greg I must say. All the people involved here are have that different serious look and determination to beat the cold possibly...as the first guy holding a cup does...

Thanks Izzie. I think the first guy is doing something with his cell phone. How's it back being in Oz?

    Re: The Look Of Determination

I love the look on everyone's face and the concept. However, for me, the execution isn't up to your normal standard. The EXIF data is stripped from your photo so I'm not sure how much of it can be fixed. For me, the action of the woman walking to the right should either be stopped or showing more motion. That probably can't be fixed. The other woman's face seems to lack detail and I would be willing to bet that can be fixed. Even so, it seems that her action also isn't completely stopped.

Thanks Mike, in this case, I've done pretty much all I could. The image wasn't as sharp as I would have liked plus, I've cropped it so that may have exacerbated the lack of sharpness. On the other hand, personally I'm drawn to the confluence of these three people, all with their own look of determination, not the most perfect shot but one that I think works within its limitations.

Hi Jack, I like the image . As the others mentioned, many things are going on in the photo and the people all look very determined (especially the lady on the RHS). The face and hand of the lady in the middle looks a bit too bright, may be you can fix it with PP. The expressions make the image powerful and and lack of sharpness becomes less important this way.

You are right! It is a cell phone! When I looked at it first time and even a second time, I thought he was holding a cup of some sort of hot beverage. 'Must be my eyes. Too much activities here during the day (and I have to blame something. 'Won't happen again...)

Thank you Binnur. I'm still fussing with the PP on this image, if I can improve it a bit I'll post up another edit.

+1 from me jack. It's a nice catch and the title fits but the woman's face is a tad eye catching and slightly interrupts the story - if you know what I mean (not sure I do).

Jack - this image is great.

I love the expressions on the three faces; that really makes this image. They are priceless; I especially love the guy on the cell phone and the woman striding through the image. I think the person who is on the right, walking away from the scene just adds balance to whole shot, and the tree branch over his head, just great!

Manfred, thank you, high praise given the level of your work!
    Thank you Roger.
    Thank you Mark.

Here is one more edit of the image, I've toned down the woman's face and hand.
