Dave, cloning out the car roof is a thought that has grown on me since I posted and it wouldn't be a difficult job. Might just do that.

I know what you mean Carolyn. I'm not a train enthusiast beyond their potential for photography and that has meant a bit of a learning curve. Choosing the right platform by wind direction, recognising that photographing northbound trains in the morning means shooting into the light etc. etc. have all been hard lessons.

Do not change a thing. This is a very good picture. I wish I could capture such a moment.

I've read and learned from experience to always turn around and look the other way especially at sunset and sunrise. It's surely paid off here with a great composition and fabulous colours and light.
I will also often tip the camera and take the opposite aspect ratio after shooting my main image. Here that would be a portrait shot which would also be interesting and would remove some of the things that jar with some viewers.

Thanks Ole, Thanks Graham. Graham, I guess what I had in mind until the passenger entered the shot, was to capture a country station set high up in the moors. Hence thinking only in terms of landscape.

Is that a rubbish bin at the left hand side of the shot, John? Just asking...I was looking for flaws as usual and I can't find one, so I just mentioned it...Very nice and atmospheric. I love the colour of the textured clouds and the mist hugging the mountains.The whole comp is superb...will surely learn a lot from this shot...

I saw the bench...just thought the taller side has a bin near it... too dark to see really...
