    three light orchid - stacked

Three lights used - a combination of studio flash head and two flash strobes. One to the left, second to the right, and one on the art board at the back to try and get pure white - but I still had to adjust it a bit in PS. Stack of seven images manually focused. f/16 iso100 1/125s canon 5DM2 and canon 100mm macro.

    Comments welcome.

Yep, you could also try with a black background to see how it turns up.

Rob...my husband just entered the room and he asked why my mouth is opened...I showed him your stack and he asked "why can't you take good photos like that?" Do I shoot him later or shut up? My mind is racing so I chose to shut up. I think he got the message when I looked at him sharply...

    Burial is at 3pm...Thursday.

Anyway, back to topic...this is a WoW! truly WoW! shot...I created a Board on Pinterest and pin this one for others to look at too...my first board on photography. I really like this one...

Wonderful everything, Rob, but for the stem on the left. Would you consider losing it? Jettison that anchor to reason and reality? I dare you.

What you should have replied there is "Well, honey, there's this camera and lens that costs $5,000 and it's my birthday next..."

    Glad you like it!

I lost my anchor to reason and reality a long time ago. In fact, I'm not quite sure I ever had it (I might have left it in a motor-way service station last year) Yes, I did think of losing the stem, but in the end rationality prevailed!

I was just going to say, I am talking to the whiskbender, for heaven's sake; he doesn't need any lessons in irrationality from me.

This is a lovely image. My inclination would be for a black BG but I have to say that it presents very well as is. Nicely done.
