    Ships

It's so easy to forget how big these things are.

Taken from the Stanley Park Seawall in Vancouver, BC.

Hmm. Looks like the rainy season is back in Vancouver. Nice shot, but the crop is a tad tight for my taste, and I would be tempted to leave a bit more room at the bow.

That's a great perspective with the bridge in the picture. Nicely composed with position of the ship and shape of the bridge. I agree with Manfred's suggestion that a bit more room in front of the ship may be even more effective. Also a pano type crop removing some of the foreground might give even more of a sense of the length of the ship. Remember the ages old saying, "if it doesn't add to the picture it takes away". IMO the foreground water doesn't add anything.

I suppose the question is 'was there any more room in the shot in-front of the bow'? That is a really long ship.

+1 to Manfred's comment about the crop, but other than that, I really like the shot!

    Here is a 16:9 crop.

What I really liked was that the reds and yellows in the ship balanced so well against the blues in the background.
