    Yet another abstract

When I first looked at this image after downloading it to my computer it conjured up thoughts of Dr Who and portals in time and space.
It has had noise reduction, sharpening and a little selective contrast adjustment done in PP.

    Yet another abstract

I really like this image but, would prefer a closer crop with less black around it...

Nicely captured, I at first only glanced at from a distance so analyzing for noise was not my main concern; I like the vibrancy and feeling of movement in the design.

Hmmm....interesting. I like the colour execution, but what was it originally ? A Flower?

No, not a flower and John was right when he said it has a "feeling of movement in the design"
It's a 3 year old playing with a blue glow stick and a taller 5 year old with a green one. It's a 6 second exposure at 15mm and f10 giving a DoF of about 78cm (2.5ft) to infinity. I manually focused before lights out then let them start playing.

I agree with Richard on the crop Graham and I'm sorry you added the explanation of what it is. My imagination was running riot up to that point wondering what was down the tunnel and through the black hole at the end. It's a great abstract. It would hang in the right place.

Very nice, Graham! I like the separation of the colours and the definition. I'm with Richard, though, in that I want to get closer in.

Nice one Graham - I've been reading up painting with light and am thinking of trying it sometime. Your work certainly makes me want to try it sooner than later.

I personally like your framing with the large black border.

I like the three-dimensional feel to it and that I have the impression that the green and blue areas are moving toward me. If the image was cropped tighter, I'm reasonably confident I would lose that feeling of forward motion.

This is cool Graham and I'm not sorry you said what it was.

When I see something like this I think, "wow, that's pretty cool! I wonder what they did?"

I can just imagine the kids having fun waving light sticks!

    Re: Yet another abstract

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and it seems we're evenly divided on the crop. At least it's very easy to crop and keep as many sizes as a hard drive will fit
It also shows how hard it could be to suit all judges in a photo comp
