    The Presidential Motorcade

President Obama is currently in Brisbane attending the G20 Summit. Earlier today he gave an address at the University of Qld. For some unfathomable reason I wasn't invited. So the best I could do was wait in the 35 deg heat for his motorcade. Nothing very creative here, just some camera practice. Just missed the framing on the last shot but there are no second chances with this sort of thing. A couple of seconds and it's all over !

I wondered if you would go to this, Dave. Nice shots.

I like the 2nd shot; nice wedge of coppers pointing down the street. I note the bottled water in the pants pocket, too.

It looks the cop in the 5th one is eye-balling you.

I read somewhere that the roundabout at that intersection had been removed so his car could get through. They could at least have got the temporary road sign working properly.

Actually Greg the police were quite friendly and chatty, perhaps they were some of the imports from NSW They must have been hot in those vests though.

Tony I think the roundabout at this intersection has been gone for some time. The story you refer to relates to the one just up the road I believe. The authorities didn't agree to that request though and it is still there.

Dave...I like the sharpness of these shots you made here...I particularly like the coppers too and the ones in the motorcycles...just a question though -- that woman in the light blue dress, is she taking a picture or "making a finger"? She looks like making the finger at the motorcade ... and her expression is not too pleasant either....

I had a look at the full size image blown up to 100% but I can't really make out what the woman in blue is doing. She appears to be holding something but I'm just not sure.

Thanks Gerry, yes that occurred to me too but I just can't make it out. Too much blur in that part of the image.

And there's a 75% chance the photo is a selfie
