Spider Man (Just for fun)

This guy was pruning a tree nearby. I was watching him for a while and then thought it might make an interesting photo. He was about 40m up the tree but when I pointed the camera at him (from my backdoor) he held five fingers up and yelled 'Five Dollars! Five Dollars!".

I yelled back, "I'll give you ten if you fall!"

He must have decided to drop his price because then he held up two fingers.

Anyway, with the ropes and branches radiating out from him, I though he looked like a spider up there - particularly as he blended in with the foliage. So I added a radial blur to emphasise that aspect a bit.

Greg you must be illiterate when it comes to sign language. I am positive the two fingers indicated if he fell he could walk away using both legs.

It is a dramatic perspective.

Definitely an interesting capture Greg. Love the expression on his face but it needs lightening a little to bring it out a bit more. Might be worth trying a vignette to draw the eye in to him as well. Judging by his expression, two black eyes was probably what his fingers were indicating.

You have read this guy right: he is one tough dude. I watched him climb the tree from the ground up. He prepared his ropes, through one up to the lowest branch, about 8-10 m above ground level, stuck a cigarette in his mouth, lit it, then started hauling himself up. He go to the position you see here, still with the cigarette in his mouth and then took a break.

Good suggestion for the vignette and brightening John, thanks. I couldn't do much to the face because it occupies a small part of the composition, so I also burned the surrounded branches to try to draw more attention to the face.

Thanks for the laugh, Greg...I sure need it this morning (badly!!) I seem to look at the tree leaves surrounding him like a radial effect concentrating on him isn't so hard. I would like the first one to have a lighter touch on the face because this latter edit is just a tad too overdone (unless you add a bit of softness to his face yet lighter...) Now I confused myself... but I hope you understand how I mean...

Yep. This is why I don't work on the computer in the evening. Eyes just aren't good enough. I might try this one again from scratch.
