With the weather being so temperamental at the moment I decided to take some shots of one of my favourite places at this time of year... The fireplace

I've tried to acheive a sort of warming feeling to the images... C&C appreciated.

Basically OK but it is a pity about those shadows which come across the brickwork and rather spoil the effect. Is there any way that you can shoot with slightly different lighting to avoid that happening?

Very cosy looking room overall I should say..I like the red carpet. Someone in your house is very fond of hearts I should say...but I have a little nit to pick -- both shots are incomplete with the top of the mantel showing because they were cut off short. I prefer #1 shot despite the long shadows you included in it...

Thanks for viewing guys, I will re-shoot these again when I get a chance. Its hard to get all of the mantle in as I am limited for space and these were shot at 18mm. Its not a very big room

#1 for me Matt , may be it is better to crop the cut off images at the top IMO they don't add to the scene and they make the composition crowded.

Thanks for viewing Binnur, I'll keep that in mind when I revisit the shot...I prefer the landscape version as well.
