I had different approaches for both shots; the Ottawa winter ones, I was trying for a cold, sterile look and here in the Golden Temple shot, I was trying to show it as a vibrant, lively and friendly place, even at night.

Thank you for introducing this place to me, Manfred. Wikipedia says that 100,000 people worship there daily. Surely that's the most or near the most number of people who worship any place in the world.

They also feed some 40,000 to 60,000 people for FREE here every day (basic food, rice, water chapatis, dal). We did have lunch there (and left a donation). I've got to spend some time with those images, so posting will have to wait until I get home. Originally Posted by Mike Buckley

Very nice image Manfred, thanks also for sharing the story. Actually I don't care about the quality of your India shots because they are like documentaries and I really enjoy watcing them and reading their story. I think I will spend a lot of time in India when I get there. A friend of mine has just come back from a 15 day trip to India and she says that 'it is not enough, I will go again'. It is always possible to watch documentaries about India on TV, but 'going there and experimenting things' are exciting really.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your shots when you come back
