    Bronte

Taken on a nice sunny afternoon from the pier of Bronte Creek as it flows out into Lake Ontario. f5, 1/800", ISO 100 with T2i and 50mm lens. C&C appreciated.

Nice effort, much of the scene is severely backlit, nothing wrong with that but it presents too much dark in a very sunny setting.

I zoomed in to lytebox thinking that the structure behind the trees would be a ship but it was a marina...good catch...this is a nice place.

Thanks John. You are correct. It was backlit; I should have mentioned that; it was mid afternoon, and the position of the sun was such that there was major reflections off the water: this was what attracted me to attempt this shot. I will try lighting up the dark areas.

Here it is with the rocks in foreground lightened: May have gone overboard though.

You were right first time. It is a ship docked on the far side of a pier.

I like your second edit best...it brings out everything like "au natural" -- who said one have to shoot in the golden hours only? This is really nice any time of the day.

Lovely spot. I prefer the second and as you say maybe slightly overboard particularly the vertical rocks towards the left side but it was well worth the effort lightning the rocks up.

Thank you. Yes, I did have some problems trying to lighten up the rocks on the left. Still learning how to use the brushes in Lightroom.
