    Quite a good shot Steve, but I'd prefer to see it larger in the frame.

    I know that can be a problem though, most of my bird shots are too small

    You caught the duck very well, and nice colours. But as Dave said, it doesn't fill much of the frame. At 420mm you must have been some distance from it I guess?

    If you viewed it in a larger size , you wouldn't be saying that. I like the diagonal movement and background of this shot.

    Possibly, but we're not

    I like the diagonal blur too.

    Here's what I had in mind;
    Wood Duck in flight

    Obviously it's going to be technically inferior due to the crop, expand, re-sharpen from a jpg, but it gives the idea. In the original, I just found the dark trunks on the right a little too 'attention grabbing', and the bird, which I'd like to see the detail of, too small.
