    Charger's First Halloween

Charger is a three and a half month old Maltese-Terrier mix who is celebrating his first Halloween as a foster in our home. A woman purchased this sweet little boy and found that she did not have enough time to devote to his care so she turned him over to us. I suspect that it won't be long before someone with enough time will adopt this cutie.

By the way, he is named after our local football team, the San Diego Chargers!

Those photos appear easy to make but anyone who has photographed round, shiny objects know better. Very well done to so nicely bring out the texture in the dog's hair and the fabric and to render the Halloween decorations with such appeal! Even so, consider digitally removing some of the reflections in the four or five dark spheres producing direct reflections.

Mike and Kodiak: What do you think of this redux regarding the reflections in the balls?

    Charger's First Halloween

John: Actually Little Charger is quite a pistol in his behavior. My wife and I were surprised that he was as calm and sedate as he was for these images with the wreath. We took away the wreath and he rolled in the chair we shoot on and it the images look like an advert for a bad hair day. This shot was done only minutes after Charger had posed nicely with the Halloween wreath. He wanted to show us how quickly he could mess up his hair. I didn't do a lot of PP on this shot because I am never going to use it!

Charger does look kind of cute though!

Oh Richard...he is such a cutie...but why the sad eyes? Haven't been loved enough? I wish someone will come along and give him a good home...this one needs a lot of loving.

Much, much better! It was worth the time required to also attend to the orange balls even though they weren't as distracting as the black balls. However, take another look at the orange ball that is immediately to the right of the charcoal ball below Charger's right foot. When you toned down a couple reflections, they went to a distracting grey tone.

I "think" this is the final edit!

    Charger's First Halloween

I also corrected Charger's right paw a bit. The globe beneath the paw was partially shining through his fur which disturbed me...
