    Yet another sweat bee

And yet again on asclepius. Unfortunately, our garden isn't yielding a big variety now: mostly bumblebees and honeybees of various kinds, along with a few sweat bees. This is a little larger than previous. To get an idea of scale, I actually went back and measured the flowers. They are 4-5 mm across. So, this lady is much smaller than any kind of honeybee, but bigger than some other sweat bees I have seen.

    C&C welcome, as always.

    50D, 100 mm macro, 20mm tube, diffused flash, 1/125, f/13.

This is nice... even if the flowers seems to dominate the scene a bit...very,very macro -- I can almost see the sweat in its cheeks. Good shot!

thanks Izzie. That's an interesting idea; I could easily pull down the saturation in the flowers. Hadn't occurred to me.

The bees don't sweat. They are called this because supposedly some species are attracted to human sweat, although I have never seen this myself.

I know bees don't sweat but these sweat bees when they chose to bite really stings....don't ask why I know... I wish others will comment too on this beautiful shot...
