Thanks Dan, Kodiak, Mike, David, Rita, Terri, John, Irene, Binnur. Glad you like it.
Very attractive image. It looks like there is almost no fine detail in the whole picture, yet it's not blurry or off-focus. As if you had pushed the clarity slider into the negatives, did you? It seems to me like a bird photo rendered a little more artistically than the usual.
Also a good way to get folks to ignore your post thinking they'd seen it beforeThought it would be fun to complete Peter Phun's (pixel pete) story.
Egret looking for an evening mealIt happened to me at first.

That's a great capture. Much of a crop?
Nicely done, Bobo....excellent shot! I like the clarity of the shot and bokeh is really good that it emphasizes the shape of the bird.
Thanks Nick, John, Izzie.
Pic is from Nov 2013. Post-wise no sure now what I did. Softness can be attributed to ISO 3200 and underexposure to keep the whites in check. That combo tends to introduce a bit more noise than a properly exposed shot so a bit more aggressive noise reduction could have contributed too to the softish appearance.
Cropped certainly but at 560mm would not have been that much, certainly under 35%. They do fly by quite close so it was just a matter of waiting and tracking.
