Have not been around in a while. Time seems so limited these days. As always CnC welcome.

You haven't been away that long, Carl. Anyway, it's always good to see one of your images.

I wonder if, on this one, you need all that sand at the bottom of the frame. What suggestion to consider is whether a crop at the bottom to make it into a 16:9 format, actually throws more attention onto the the old tree.

If you can easily return to the scene, you should be able to take advantage of a number of compelling compositions in different light and different moods. As an example, I can imagine making the moss at the end of the tree the primary subject.

Nice shot Carl. I like the treatment of the driftwood. What I find a touch distracting is that light area along the horizon line; it looks like a bit of a built-up spot or something. If it were my shot, I might be tempt to clone out some of the stuff on the horizon; and I think Donald is right as well, getting rid of a bit of the beach that doesn't really contribute to the image might be worth looking at as well.

Mike it is close enough I can return. I would like to get different takes on it. Didn't have much time that day. I would also like to get more clouds in the sky. Not sure that would work but would like to give it a try.

Thanks Manfred! The light area is the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Po...train_Causeway I tried to clone it out a couple of times but my skills in that area are not that good. Still working on it and will eventually get there.
