Going back over some from Island 2011
Went back over some older images I took in Island back in 2011, printed it out but had a hard time keeping that red/orange back ground that I liked on the original print. That one was done on a 308gm Rag stock, this one was done on a Luster (to lazy to change roll and ink from gloss to matt). Did like the look I was after on the original shots, water looked good but background didn't, so adjusted WB up to 8600 deg. K, liked background, water was funny but I liked it anyways.

Darn… this would have been a out of this world shot if the sun had touched all
the shore… down to the water line!
Nevertheless, very cool!

It is a lovely image. I really like the stark but fitting contrast between warm and cool tones.

Thanks Kodiak and Dan, I just happened to turn down a dirt road that had an arrow that had the word "foss" which to me meant fast flowing waters or falls. That shadow like is from the bank that I am on, Kodiak you are right if only I had gotten there 5 minutes sooner.
Again thanks for the comments.

Very nice Allan...Is that orangy colour really that colour or is this HDR-ed? Just curious...it is beautiful....

This looks surreal Allan, I like it. It's hard to determine the scale of things until you spot the bridge on the far left.

Nice shot Allan.
If your experience in Iceland was the same as mine, then grabbing any shot that was not taken in overcast conditions could be considered a bonus. Just keeping dry, warm and not getting blown off a cliff by the winds were quite the challange on some days.
The colours in the scene are wonderful; there is just something almost primordial about some of the rocks and landscapes there. I think what struck me the most about the place was all of the waterfalls there. Just gorgeous...

Izzie this is one shot, to get that as you say orangy colour, I adjusted the WB to 8600 deg. K this really warmed up the image. Now the colour of the water wrong, but it brought out the colour on the far bank and as the sun was just setting there was that beautiful warm soft light. Now in preparing the shot I also helped it along a bit.

Grahame until you spotted the bridge I never noticed it, as I was focused on the overall image. I had to open the shot in the light box to see "what bridge" and there it was.

Hi Allan
Those strong colors are just to my taste. I also like the movement of the water. I would crop this image from the top just to leave the dark clouds in the frame.
