    Shadows

I believe the shadows stand well on their own but it's icing on the cake for me that I have a strong affinity for the objects that produced them.

Hi Mike I would leave only the first big shadow in the frame by cropping the image. Just an idea What are the objects that produce the shadows?

Mike, interesting and a good eye as usual. I wonder whether it might have been a more satisfying comp if the whole of the third shadow was present. I know that makes for a long thin format but the cut off bit gives me the feeling that I'm missing something and my eye begins to wander out of the frame.

    Re: Shadows

Thank you to John and Binnur.

About Binnur's idea: I also thought the image would be stronger if I cropped to include only the largest shadow and actually planned the image that way when I captured it. However, when I tried doing that the image seemed static and boring.

About John's idea: I was standing on the same level of ground as the shadows, so the only way to include more of the rear shadows would have been to make the primary shadow smaller and/or more distorted. If I had had a ladder with me, I surely would have tried other perspectives.

The shadows are produced by fish racks explained here.
