Mists over the valley on a cold frosty morning at sunrise

Just some pics taken recently from home on a cold misty morning, around sunrise, overlooking valley beside us through which meanders the Goulburn river. It is the interplay of the light and shadows and the mist on the trees which interested me.
Oh, and we had an early morning visitor as well. Not the greatest shot of roo, of which we have several hundred who hang around our place, and so were common targets for framing , until we got to the stage of, "Not another damned roo shot!"

Again it was the early morning light that was the interest, not some over fed flyer getting up for her first morning feed! LOL. It was a cold frosty morning. In fact I froze my butt off getting these shots, and was more than happy to get back inside where Mrs ucci had just made a very welcome cup of tea and had a very nice fire going. It is all very well paying heed to the golden hour bizzo for the sake of one's 'art;' but one can over do these things when it is as cold as a bank manager's heart out of doors.

Anyway, for those who took the time, thanks for viewing and I sincerely hope you feel that your time was not wasted in so doing.

    Hi Ken,

A really nice set of photos, great work. I like them all but my fave is the second last one of the tree, I like how you have the light in the upper parts highlighting the leaves.

    Cheers

Ken like your 1st, however for me it is the 4th shot that does it.

I'm seeing a ghost image of the roo's head. It has its head facing us and it's head in profile. Did it turn its head during the exposure? If I hadn't noticed that I was going to say it was actually my pick of the set.

Hardly "just some pics"! A beautiful set of images. My preference is for the first and fourth. The layering in the first is almost surreal. The fourth is stronger than the third, in my opinion, because it has more of a focus--the one tree really stands out--and is simpler in some ways. Inspiring.

Love the mood! I would be very tempted to emphasize the layering of the first one by cropping at the bottom to eliminate the foreground and cropping at the top to eliminate all of the mountain including its base in the background, leaving only the gorgeous gold-brown treetops peeking above the mist.

Beautiful set of images. I like the splash of light in # 3 and on the lone tree of #4.

Its been said already, but these are a beautiful set of images - you have captured the light and used it to great effect in each. I can't pick a favourite.......................

Perhaps startled by the shutter sound?
I guess in 1/50s, it probably could turn its head.

Either that or Ken has been playing with Puppet Warp

    A great set Ken,

I think my fav. is #1.

Living on a relatively flat plain, I am always envious of folks that live on hills, especially where the landscape and atmospherics produce opportunities like this - that said, I don't like the thought of being "windswept", so perhaps I'll stop wishing

    Cheers,

Wow - great images. You certainly made the most of that opportunity. I'm hoping for some early morning mists, but every time I see them, my camera has not been close by.

Ken...all beautiful shots. My vote goes to #5 with the big red roo and also #1. It is a moody sort of shot. I've only been to Seymour once for a visit to a friend who operates the Post Orifice in town. The Old Post Office Restaurant is the best in town I think...beautiful place you have there...lots of photo opportunities.
