    Cherry Blossoms from Japan

First attempt at macro with our new (and borrowed from my granddaughter) Canon G11. Do I miss my 7D I left at home? You bet I do. The G11 is a nice all around camera but I will have to practice with the macro to see how I can improve the image quality.

The cherry blossoms are indeed beautiful and the aroma is amazing. It is a treat to be here this time of the year. These are on my daily hike around Rokko Island.

I'd be careful if I were you, she may 'borrow' your 7D.

#1 is good, but I think the focus point has hit the lower flowers rather than the main one. I may be wrong on that. #2 seems a little 'busy' to me with all the background branches etc. Strictly speaking (but who cares?) a macro shot is one where the ratio is at, or gets close to a 1:1 ratio with subject/sensor. These are more 'close-ups'. Nice flowers though. You are lucky to be visiting Japan.
