    Lofoten, Norway #7: Boulder Beach

Boulder Beach, which is just beyond the village of Eggum, is the site of the remains of a World War II German radar station positioned on a hill overlooking the ocean. Though Eggum has a beautiful, expansive beach made of nothing other than white sand, this beach is named for an obvious reason.

I particularly like the composition on this. There's a lovely line from that boulder right in the front at the bottom of the frame, to the top of the hill. It's very much a composition that takes you through the image from front to back.

At first I got sidetracked by the backstory and forgot to really look at the image.

Nice composition and technique on both.

    Thanks, guys!

Donald: It seemingly took me forever to find the line you mentioned and a rock in the foreground that is interesting enough (in this case by being sufficiently textured) to grab our attention. I also had to find a boulder large enough to stand on to allow the perspective that makes it possible to separate the boulders and mountain by the small bit of smooth ground. Doing all of that is a matter of making order out of chaos and I wasn't confident I had achieved it until I reviewed the photo yesterday.

2nd what Donald said, & not at all surprised that you put a lot of effort into it, in fact I'm glad as I try hard at rocky shores but always record chaos. Thanks.
