Nicely captured. I'd crop out the insert of the background landscape.

No...no...John...I think it is interesting for that to be included. It is different, yes, but interesting. Look at it as a bonus shot. I love it. One that annoys was that black and white thing on the fence. If there is something to be removed, it should be that one.

I love the whole shot as or the composition and sharpness, Joanne.

    Izzie,

I see your point and often find picture in picture to work very well, in this case the extra is so small and in such an out of the way place that it distracts from the subject.

If you don't want to remove the city-scape in the back, you might want to consider desaturating it a bit. The tonal range is so far removed from that of the rest of the image that I find it distracting to. Getting a better tonal match might help here. You don't want a blank space, on one hand, but on the other you don't want to drawer the viewer's eyes away from the subject either.

Me too feel the inclusion of the sea-landscape rescued the image from being monotonous and from being just a face; it also gives a scale of dimensions... ; i would have named it "a strip of memory", because it looks like she/he is contemplating on the landscape.....
    Regards
