    Symphony of Fire

I made it out to the Symphony of Fire last night. The USA was doing the show and it was a wonderful presentation. The finale was superb but I got so engrossed in the show I failed to get any images of it Here are a few from what I took. From what I did on July 1 I do see some improvement but there is still room to get better. A remote shutter was purchased in time for this and that really helped to keep down the camera movement.

I used f11, bulb with 4 sec exposure, and ISO 200.

    Any feedback is gratefully received.

Those are really nice firework shots. I especially like #3 and #5. #5 best I think, maybe #3 would be a little better if there were more water in it. The smoke and the hills are also both important parts of the picture in my opinion. Is #6 a little tilted?

I like them. Good choice of shutter speed to get just the right amount of the explosion. Nicely done.

I love these, especially no. 3! I so want to try fireworks, but in my small town and areas not many chances of fireworks, even though im 10min away from a firework factory. And when i do im planning on using my nero trigger to see if it helps.

#3 does it for me. Consider using a square format.

Great shots and I love the way you have captured the light on the water in images 4, 5 and 6. Mu favourite is no 5 as I love the universal colour effect you have achieved here.

    Re: Symphony of Fire

Irene, Dan, John, Grahame, & Randy thank you.

Nick, I will look at a re-crop of #3 to include more water. I will post it soon. #6 I will recheck the straightening too.

Allen, I find fireworks fun to do. In order to see these it was 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, the same coming home, and we were there 5 hours early in order to get a good spot. But it was worth it! Hope you get to come across some to try. I did learn through trying fireworks out prior to this set that a remote shutter release is a must have

Mike, thank you, I never thought of using a square crop but I will give it a try and I will post it.

Kay, thank you. Number 5 is my favourite too.

    Rita
Very impressive shots - certainly they encourage me to try something similar. In my opinion, 5 and 6 are particularly arresting because of the balance between the water reflections and the intensity of the firework display.

Rita - I agree with the others, great timing during the capture, you have some really beautiful fireworks images.

The one question I have is was it really that light out when the fireworks were going off? I wonder if these shots are actually overexposed a bit as the low lighting conditions fooled the camera's metering system

#5 for me - the fireworks give immediate impact but there's so much else once you get past them.

Greg & Steve, thank you for your feedback.

Manfred, appreciate the feedback. When the show started it was not completely dark out. As I look at these again #1, 2, & 3 are pretty accurate to what the lighting was. However, #4 is a little overexposed

    Hi Rita,

    Great captures!

#5 is my favourite because of the beauty of the overall scene, the reflections on the water, and the fireworks themselves (uniquely different - like little jewels!), followed by #3 with more water.
