20/20 hind site says that image could have been lots more better had you had been nearer to the water.
That, or clone out the brush.![]()
Nice capture, it might be a distraction from the keen horizon and clouds but a bit of fill light could add a touch to the shrubs.
Looks fine to me. The foreground is dark but I would sooner have it as a solid black, like this, than being a muddy brownish black which is neither one thing nor the other.
I like the image as it is Carl, good capture![]()
Looks perfect to me, lovely blue, perfect contrast and great setting, being closer would have spoilt it
Very nice Carl![]()
Thanks everyone for you comments. They helped me to decide to go back to the raw file and completely work this image from scratch. I hope it is as much an improvement as I think it is. lol
@Chauncey thanks and yes it could have been better. Here in Louisiana we have four critters that need the utmost respect. 1) cotton mouth, very aggressive snake 2) Alligator, very dangerous at both ends 3) Red Wasp, down right out mean little buggers 4) yellow jackets, the kind that have their nest underground, hateful when disturbed. The area I was in could hold one or all four. I'm too old and too slow to out run any of these any more, at least I think so.One never knows what one can do until the need arises and I'm going to do all I can to make sure the need will be almost impossible to arise.
I was parked on the shoulder of the road with the driver door open and me with camera standing up as high as I could get. It was approx 20ft from car to water.

Yes that works. You have managed to retain texture in the foreground and have it as an acceptable dark greenish tint.
Nice redo.
Thanks Geoff, I did it in Viveza using control points I brought the brightness up, green hue up, higher than what one would want, learned that through trial and error, then saturation. Back in LR5 I brushed a little shadow back onto it and a light vignette and that brought it to where it is now.
