That first shot is rather interesting. On the second one, I love to try backlit birds for the lighting effects through the feathers. Some additional PP would help the cropped version.

A sunset backlit gull can make a really great shot. Have been doing some myself but moved on to trying the same on swallows. No luck there of course.

Bobobird, thanks for commenting. Gulls are more plentiful so the opportunity is in my favor, swallows tend to move to fast for me.
