It is a marvelous challenge. I find two pieces of equipment to be crucial. The first is a walking stick as tall as I am or a tripod that extends nicely. Either one braces the camera nicely. The other is a stool that allows me to sit solidly and get up close and personal. Steady is crucial. Learning how to lean against trees and boulders is a good idea too.
