Sunset in the Arctic circle
Hi, I have just taken this photograph at 2 am today 6th June and I was trying to get the best from the ''golden hour'' light, I have been trying so many exposure settings and watching the blinkies. I'd welcome all comments and advice. The shot was taken just inside the Arctic circle while at work
Kirkenes, Norway.

Re: Sunset in the Arctic circle
Spins me out thats its light at 2 am there. I would love to experience it some day.
Amazing sky, great photo. To me the image looks a little tall, I tried a 16:9 crop just to the left of the land mass in the centre which I liked but both would work.
Cheers, Greg

Re: Sunset in the Arctic circle
The scene is so peaceful and the water and land contribute so little information that I would strongly consider cropping to display only the sky.

Re: Sunset in the Arctic circle
Greg, this is about as dark as it gets, in about 2 hours time it would start getting lighter again. Most of the darkness was due to a thunder storm that is passing in the bottom right corner of the picture.

With most shots like this, Gerry, I am saying 'Crop to reduce the amount of land/sea a the bottom' but in this case, I think I would have liked to see the merest amount more.
